  10. indeed, NDS can only play NDS files. Inside that ZIP archive is a single .NDS file.

    You should extract the ZIP file first in order for you to have your NDS file.

    You can use winrar to extract that ZIP file, so that you can get the NDS file inside the zip file…

I have down loaded a few games from your site but until I am able to unzip them I will not be able to play them.     For those on Mac systems the only way to open a zip file is if they have Stuffit deluxe which can open zip files easier than winrar. Just drag and drop and it’s open. They then have to transfer the nds file to a windows pc as the Mac OS will not recognize the RT chip and will ask you to format the disk (which you don’t want to do). Once you transfer the file to a pc then you just copy your files to the rt chip and you’re good to go.

    – Hi anonymous, You need a USB chord to connect your NDS lite to your PC. It’s just like connecting a flash drive and copying files by selecting the specific file, highlight it, and copy it. You can copy a file by pressing CTRL+C, or highlight the files, then right click it, and press Copy. Go to your NDS window (after plugging your NDS lite onto your PC), then paste the said files, or press CTRL+V.

    – Hi anonymous, maybe you’ve unzipped it in a different directory, and you’re looking to a different directory after unzipping the file. Try to unzip it within the directory where the zip file was located. If you have winrar, right click the .ZIP file, the choose “EXTRACT HERE”. I hope this helps…

    btw, download the latest kernel. Here’s the easy to follow instructions:

    After downloading and decompressing the new updated files, there will be one moonshl folder and two files _DS_MENU.DAT, _DS_MSHL.NDS.Copy these files to the root directory of TF card to replace the former files, or if you deleted the former files, just copy and paste the new files, it should be fine by then…

    @jefta – it’s just because rom-site.com has a limited bandwidth and/or CPU usage in their webhost, that’s why they limit file downloads to prevent havoc of their webhost ^_^

  92. @lauren redito – moonshell is a software to play videos onto your NDS lite…

    You can download moonshell with DPG tools here.
    Once you’ve downloaded MoonShell onto your Windows PC you’ll need to extract the Zip file and run “setup.exe” this will open the setup program, from here you need to choose your output directory where the NDS files will be output to. Once it’s been run you should have three files created. These files are:

    * _BOOT_MP.nds
    * _BOOT_MP_SC.nds
    * _BOOT_MP_SmallM3SD.nds

    Copy the relevant NDS file to your flash card and insert everyting into you Nintendo DS and turn it on, now run the file you copied.

    You should see some information on the top screen scroll down before a Graphical Interface appears on the top and bottom screens. If this has worked then you have got Moonshell working fine.

  95. Okay i have read all the responses here and am still having issues , hoping someone can Help. I got something from wal mart called Games n’ music for the Ds, I have downloaded and unzipped 4 different games and added them to the card (2 games from this site 2 from another) When i double click them to start the game all it does is goes to either a white screen or black screen and i cant do anything but power off.

    3. ok now create a folder on your desktop and call it r4 rom fix or something like that it is a rar file so use winrar to extract the file google winrar if you don’t already have it.
    4. double click the rar file called english 1.17 and then extract to the folder on your desktop called r4 or whatever you called it,
    5. place your micro sd card into your card reader and plug it into your pc now open up f drive or something similar and you should see moonshell and some other files like your games if you have any lol,
    6. now go into your folder on your desktop and copy all the files into the f drive it will ask if you want to replace click yes to all now it will be done.

    now you will make everyone jealous when they see you playing mario and sonic lol or final fantasy anyways if you run into troubles let me know and i will post something easier lol,

  231. Thanks for your previous reply. I do have an rd4 card but when I unzip I get a message “The data could not be accessed. Power off the DS and reinsert the game card. ” I do this and the same happens again. This however is not always the case and we are sometimes successful. This has happened as well with cooking mama 2 which you very kindly put on your site for us.

  277. what i do is post the games that are popular, you can request some games at a time don’t give me a list of 100 as i am a busy bee lol i like to play games as well as help out on these chat sites, so if you need help with winrar i have no idea why but if you do i will post a copy up here, it will expire in 30 days so then your on your own, now i will post the latest moonshell opy with the ds.dat file as well as the other important files, if you are using a cyclo evolution ds or something similar and only one game doesn’t work then download another copy if that still doesn’t work then what you do is,
    go to the main page of your item (eg) http://www.cyclods.com go to google and search ok go to the main page of the product not where you bought it, and click the support pages search for a patch update claiming to fix the problems and downlaod it, then if it doesn’t work let me know and i will patch the game for you if i can, so if you need help then message me or email me but first try it out yourself then if you get stuck i a more than happy to help

  316. yes roms are games they are a image of the game kind of like a burnt cd, if your game is unzipped you will see a .nds file if it isn’t unzipped then unzip it, open winrar and create a new folder on your desktop then call it soemthing and then extract the file there so you know where it is going ok, umm no don’t format your ds unless you want to break it,

  358. yes you can either buy an R4DS OR an M3DS real, they both do the job, you need the usb to connect it, (which usually comes in a rumble pack :)) if the roms are unzipped and in nds format, its a simple drag and drop into the usb memory stick ๐Ÿ˜€ and hey presto you have free nds games!

  565. ok if your sd cards aren’t workin with your r4 make sure they are not sdhc if they are high capacity they won’t run i don’t know y but yer, @ ashlee , sav is the save file before you play a game it asks do you want to create a save file click yes, and then when you go into your r4 m3 or whatever you are running you will see a .nds file and a .sav file if you delete the .sav you are deleting your game,

  587. @carmella you have a nds lite, now when people say memory card we are talking about the micro sd card you get when you purchase a r4 or m3, when you purchase one of these you should recieve a cart that is like an nds game but it has a hole where you place your sd card after copying games, you will get a usb card reader where you put your sd card in and copy your games, and then when your done you place the sd card into the r4 or m3 and, then put the r4 into your nds into the slot one section where you normally put your games.

  589. Hi… recently purchased a TTds card and micro sd chip so I could download DS games for my daughter and nephew to play. However, I’ve downloaded games to my computer and transferred them to the micro sd chip but nothing comes up when we put it into the ds. Is there a specific procedure we have to follow? Is TTds card any different to a R4 or M3? The files show up as a black box in my downloads file has the games been unzipped?

  629. ok poor cat lol, you people haven’t ben reading the reason the games aren’t downlaoding on her blog is you need to type a three digit code and then a password in the box on the bottom of the page, with file monster this is the way you do it, on the blog page the pasword is written for (eg) to get the sims 2 you type the sims 2 with spaces in the password box, it works and i am able to use the downloads perfectly, so take care and enjoy i will be giving cat more games later on today like diary girl so take care, and enjoy.

  636. Ok I’ve found a simple way to find a directory to file sources using google. You may have heard this method before but ill teach it to the people who haven’t. Anyways,

    Using Google you may find .nds files even if you are completely retarded (it works I’ve done it multiple times)

    Go into your search box and isolate the file directory you want to search for… it should look something like this

    intitle:”index.of”

    this will make google search for a directory now even further in depth…

    intitle:”index.of” (nds)

    the (nds) will single out the file type you are searching for, next type in what you want

    intitle:”index.of” (nds) game

    this shows that you want a game that consists on an .nds file, but you cant get even further in depth if you wish…

    intitle:”index.of” (nds) game -html -htm -php -asp -cf

    by doing this you eliminate some of the website write types bringing you directly to a game source page (note – this does not HAVE to be done, but sometimes it helps)

    now what you have just done is searched for .nds files but this chain goes alot further than just that and i will show you how. Ever used limewire and gotten some stupid virus or your computer will just not run limewire or any other p2p file sharing program? google works immensely on these problems which i will show you.

    intitle:”index.of” (mp3) paint.it.black -html -htm -php -asp -cf

    by doing this you have just searched for an mp3 file entitled paint it black (note – the periods inbetween the words is essential this will make it so that the search will not just search for spaces but will search for any character inserted within those.)

    Finally for movie files…

    intitle:”index.of” (mp4) lord.of.the.rings -html -htm -php -asp -cf

    an .mp4 is not the only movie file you can search for its just an example

  661. @totoro you need an r4 make sure your r4 comes with a card reader, when we say usb we mean a card reader, with the card reader you put your sd card which have your games on it and slide it into the card reader, then you plug it into your, usb slot on your pc, when purchasing sd cards if you want more space buy a bigger sd card, make sure you avoid sdhc as high capacity cards don’t work in the r4,

    @ sue no with your games i don’t think you can, the games that you can change the langauge on are european games, which say they have support for multiple languages, so you might just be unlucky if you need a game then message us and if i have it i will give it to cat and they will post on there blog or website, http://bling-myworld.webs.com/

I didnt get sent a cdrom to initially set up my r4 card so i proceeded to download what I thought were the necessary files, and they wouldnt allow me to use the games. I thought I was looking on an offical website for these files as well. If you havent had a cd rom please get onto your supplied.     I have a DSTT card with 2Gb TransFlash SD card and cant make it to work on my nds lite.
    Already got the kernel files and all that’s needed for it to work + .nds files all in the root of the SD card.
    When I boot my ds with the dstt card in, it gives both screens blank. If I take it out, the ds works has it should. And if I put the dstt in with it on, it doesn’t even pick up the dstt…

    What can I do to avoid suicide?!….( eheheh, maybe a bit extreme…)

    I got an R4 card and a micro sd card, formatted the sd card to fat 32 then copied the ds files onto the sd card. opened all the zip files and saved the downloaded nds games files to the sd card put into the r4 card then into the ds. all I get is a black screen with loading on – can anyone help?

  773. hey im having trouble with my r4 card!! ive downloaded some games and unzipped them first with windows (extract option) and also winrar. i then copied them to my sd card with the usb. the title of the games appear in the ndsl but it wont open and it is telling me in the top left hand corner that there is 0 games, even tho i can see several games listed???? some help would be much appreciated.

  878. I have download several of your games and other games, whether I put one or many on the micro SD card I always get the same error. It says “MENU?” on the top screen with a picture of a micro SD card with a face on it??? If I take the SD card out it shows a similar picture but says “NO CARD” instead of “MENU?”. My DS works fine with standard games but I have never managed to get it to work with downloaded games. When it says “MENU?” on the screen none of the buttons/controls do anything.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    do any of you have problems with your R4? when i play a game on my DS using the R4, the game suddenly skips and boots to its opening/start up. so i need to keep saving the game a lot for me to progress. i’ve noticed this happen on two of my downloaded games namely FF crystal chronicles and prof layton. I’ve re-downloaded the games thinking that they might be corrupted but it still plays up. im running a 2Gig micro sd card on it and it about 60-70% full ( 18 games) if any of you know how to fix this up i’d really appreciate any info ๐Ÿ™‚ thanks!

    It means that the data is not found.. this happen because the software or the OS that you have downloaded does not match the flash card.. you would want to try downloading the OS again in the same memory card.. good luck..

  1023. Hi, i just borrowed an NDS lite from my sister( in exchange, she wants my massive iPod) im currently attempting to download Ridge Racer.

    equipped with me is a Super card marked DS ONE, inside is a micro SD.

    My pc has a card reader.

    So once I’m done downloading, I’ll unzip it, put the micro SD in the card reader and just “Drag+Drop” the content of the file into the card reader.

    so far, is my procedure correct?

    Please let me know, so i won’t buy a new NDS lite just in case this one got smoked.

    A few weeks ago i purchased a ndstt card for my ds which had games on it. My son has been playing it for a couple of weeks with no problems. I have downloaded a few games also with no problems. But unfortunately i turned it on today and it read error. I put the chip on the computer and it said that the disc has not been formatted, so i decided to format it which deleted all the files. After that i downloaded moonshell and put it on the ds after that it is now reading on the ds menu?

I downloaded nds files from NDS-Roms.com, unzipped them, converted them using the program on the supercard website, and loaded them onto my DS using a microcard converter. However, when I try to play it on my DS, it just draws a blank screen!

    My friend downloaded games for me before… I don’t know how to do it myself but I already have games on mine. I just want to add more games. Do you know what I’m doing wrong or how I can correct it???

  1041. I just recently purchased the R4DS but it did not come with the Install CD.
    However I went to the website http://www.r4ds.com and tried to download the latest kernal 1.18
    I copy to the micro folder. Then I removed from computer and put it into my ds.
    When I turned on it shows a black screen and the words loading but thats it. Its like its frozen? Can anyone help or does anyone have any suggestions? Do I actually need the Install CD to install the programs(Moonshl,system,ds menu dat,ds mshl).
    Does anyone have an extra copy of this install CD?

    • hi, you need to download the system files, and it depends on what card reader you have as well but this site should be able to help it has step by step guide and has the files you will need for your card to work once its on you will be able to play all your games.

    • if you read the paragraphs at the top of the page theres a bit that says you can ” try the games by clicking here”… theres also a link to a step by step guide on how to stick them onto your DS

    • i got mine for about 25 quid . . . . . . . you can get them on Amazon or ebay !!! as for putting them onto the DS there is a step by step guide made by a dude called Thomas which should help….

      to simplify though the R4 is a uses a micro SD card which stores the games (NDS files) as well as the software to run them with…. you just need to google R4 and download their update for the newer games that come out…

      then u stick the Micro SD card into the back of the R4 card and then that in turn into the back of ur DS.. then you just select the game you want and plsy it as normal

    • right this is simple all you do is insert the micro SD card into the USB stick whiich you receive with the r4. Stick it in a USB port into your computer/Laptop/Notebook(small laptop). Then download the games to which ever disk drive it comes under (removable disk. for me its E). Then once you have finished downloading if it comes as a RAR file unzip it and move to the remove disk drive. Finally unplug and put the SD card into your R4 and have fun! :mrgreen:

  1138. Pardon me but being a hard and fast gamer, Artist and site designer I feel your sight is a tad Cluttered. Before you begin alowing downloads you sould start by checking what you have the file as, most people(s) TTDS and computers or DS emulators are not abile to read your file format. All DS games primarily play on .NDS. or .TTD file formats, the file you have your’s set to is a basic code used in emulators which is now outdated. Though it might work on yours; another download deffenetly will not fixed most these problems and troubleshoots for it was forgotten and the bugs unsolved.

    Second, You should pay for a site if you really want people to download your roms and get feeback such as mine on how to better your website. Your lucky I found you. As your comments have shown the site is poorly botched up and very advertiser friendly, which helps nothing when it comes to your downloads.

    The site makes you look like a total ammature and the Banner proves it even more so, no point taken from games and nothing related to the nintendo DS or Nintendo games in general. Though I understand what you desire, your way of getting it is compleatly unstable. Your round about ways remind me of those who make art forums just to pump their self esteam.. There are way better sites out there for rom download such as ” romsite” and FreRomzit”. If you desire fame and pupils, comments and popularity.     • maybe the file that you’ve downloaded is corrupted. You should try downloading another game again to see. Sometimes corrupted files are the one that you downloaded but not it wasn’t downloaded 100%

  1188. No it will not mess up your ds, the flash card is read like a normal game, the ds doesn’t even know there is not a game inside the ds, what you need to do is,

    1.buy a flash cart like ttds or r4 or cyclo evo
    2. get a micro sd card to store games on
    3. if you purchased a flash cart then it should of come with a micro sd reader, if not then you can purchase one at any pc shop, some pc’s if they are new enough will have a card reader installed on them but some don’t.
    4.when you buy a flashcart it comes with software install that.
    5. put your micro sd card in the reader and copy the software to the removable device,
    6.now unzip the file, using winrar or winzip
    7. copy the .nds file to your micro sd card
    8. place the sd card in the flashcart and then pop it in your ds
    it only goes in one way.
    9.now click the menu and choose your game it will ask something about saving let it do it and your done.
