Here’s quick tip of how to send money to anyone—even without valid IDs—in the Philippines. As long as you have an internet connection, and of course, money, then you can send it to anyone for FREE via BDO + coins.ph + Security bank, or for a very small fee via other methods (e.g. 7/11 + coins.ph + security bank).
First, you need to have a coins.ph account. So if you don’t have one yet, you can sign up here. Once you have a verified coins.ph account, you can add funds instantly. For example, you want to send P1000 to someone without a valid ID, as long as he or she has a mobile number (or even if they don’t have a mobile number as long as you can communicate with him or her by any means).
First step is cash in:
Then select if you want to transfer via Bank Deposit OTC or online transfer:
Then enter the amount that you would like to add in your coins.ph account:
Deposit the exact amount to the nearest BDO branch, or if you already have a BDO online account, then you can just transfer it conveniently via online.bdo.com.ph.
Right after you made your deposit, click mark as Paid (refer to the screenshot above) it will appear instantly in your coins.ph account. The coins.ph fee will be credited back to your account once deposit has been verified.
Once the funds are in your coins.ph account, you can send it to anyone with a mobile # (or even if they don’t have one, as long as you can communicate with him or her, just send the money to your own number, then send the 16-digit account number + PIN to the person you want to send cash to).
First step is to select Cash Out, then choose Cardless ATM Instant Payout (24/7). Your recipient can withdraw to any Security Bank ATMs nationwide.
Next is to enter the amount that you want to send, for example P1000:
After clicking next, you need to enter the Recipient’s full name and mobile number. Make sure that the mobile # is correct. If you’re not sure about his or her mobile number, just send it to yourself, then forward the SMS that you’ll be receiving to the recipient.
Once you clicked Complete Payment, you’ll see the screenshot below. You’ll also receive an e-mail containing the 4-digit PIN code that the recipient will use in order to withdraw the funds successfully.
I think that sums it all up. Now you or your recipient can withdraw the amount for FREE (no withdrawal fees) in any Security Bank ATMs near you. Make sure to enter the correct 16-digit account number, 4-digit PIN code, and the exact amount.
Other cheap + instant ways to cash in are via:
7/11 – 20 pesos fee if you send 1000 (10 pesos per 500 pesos)
Gcash – 10 pesos fee if you send 1000 (Minimum of 10 php fee, regardless of the amount low than 1k. Max of 40 php fee, for amounts higher than 4k)
M.Lhuillier – 60 pesos fee if you send 1000 (but they charged lower for low amounts, around 3-6% depending on the amount)
It’s faster if you already have a GCash account or bank account with BPI, BDO, or any other Coins.ph partner banks. You can just transfer online, then send it to anyone if they have a mobile #.
