thanks , its definately an r4 (new and boxed when i bought it). I have other games on the card that I have downloaded (brain training , suite life etc) but don’t know why some games don’t work.I am not very tekkie so maybe if don’t work I have just assumed its something in the download or within the ds settings but its just guesswork to me.

@babyboo – maybe the game you’ve downloaded was corrupt.. hehe.. try to download another game, or maybe you don’t have the latest kernel for your R4DS.. 🙂
what games did you download here does not work? all games? or some games? so that I can check it on my end.
There are also times that the games downloaded are not complete, and the status says that it’s complete. Try downloading it again, and compare how many bytes are there in the first one that you’ve downloaded and the second one.
If the second one is greater, then the first one maybe corrupted. You can download the game again and try. If you’ve seen errors, just post it here again and let’s see what I can do… 🙂
you are an absolute star , I have downloaded charlottes web and mario kart from you and they are fab. cannot play cookin mama 2 or mario olympics from your downloads.

Those having trouble. You’re using an old kernal. Download 1.18 from the r4 site.

Um can anyone help me pls. I am having the same problem where i download the cooking mama 2 file and put it on the card, when i go to turn i on the screen i white and says to reinsert the card. This happens to alot of new games i try.. @sheena – once you have the .RAR file of your downloaded kernel you can unRAR it by using a software.
Go here: http://rarlab.com/rar/wrar371.exe
Install it to your PC.
Once you have installed it, right click the kernel in RAR file the choose extract here.
After the contents of the RAR file are extracted copy all of it and paste it to your Nintendo DS Lite.
Before pasting it, connect your DS first using a USB cable or just remove your DS card and insert it to a compatible Card Reader.
After you’ve inserted it, your PC will detect it and a new drive will appear in your “My Computer” page.
Click it then you can see some files inside, paste the extracted files of the RAR file in your DS.
If there are folders, just look for the appropriate folder in where you can paste your Kernel files.
That’s it 🙂
